90-Day Program
The Wings of Life 90-day program has policies which make it different from other treatment programs:
- No smoking
Almost 85% of people in recovery from alcohol and/or drug addiction are also smokers, compared with 25% of the general public. Statistics show that a person has a higher likelihood of recovery from alcohol and drug addiction if they also quit smoking. The Wings of Life is one of a growing number of programs that require patients to quit smoking as part of the treatment process. - Visitation Policy
The residents are allowed to have visitors every day. In addition, their family and friends are encouraged to join them in 12-step recovery meetings. - Welcomes Married Couples
Very few programs in the United States allow husbands and wives to simultaneously participate in the same treatment program. However, the Wings of Life believes that most husbands and wives do better by receiving treatment and working on their marriage in unison.
The Dove Foundation
The Dove Foundation is a ministry that provides a 1-year residential rehabilitation program that provides counseling and training to help people to get to the next level after the 90 day program. The only requirement for consideration by the Dove Foundation is that participants complete the Wings of Life 90-day rehabilitation program. The Dove Foundation is funded solely through charitable contributions and the contributions of sellers that enroll their homes in American Family Funds, the administrator of the Dove Foundation's Down Payment Gift Program.
Transition Program
When a resident graduates after from the 90-day Wings of Life Program, they are able to enter a transition program. Here, the resident is actively helped to find a job. Wings of Life continues to provide housing, and provides transportation to and from the job in an effort to help the individuals become self-sufficient and able to acquire their own housing.
